"Oh, you're so rich." No, I'm not rich. I just happened to believe that one should spoil themselves with good food + amazing ambiance, once in a blue moon. Back to #CHEF (cafe hopping with Eros and Fufy/Éffy), We decided to try out this place I've been wanting to try out since July, haha! Truth be told, I tempted Eros with the photos of the place! God knows he cannot resist a place like this. I've been here before and that was a thousand years ago, and that was when I couldn't afford anything. Not shitting you, I was just accompanying my friends. Anyway, sssh, let's carry on!

Before I begin, I just want to apologize to those of you read my blog (and also to myself), that I stopped blogging on cafes for a long while now. If you click on the tag #cafehopping, you'll notice that Episode 8-15 are missing. That's because of my hard disk incident. To some of you it may be a minor setback, but it was a huge one for me. Honestly, I tried blogging about them but I just couldn't do it. Well, that 's alright. Eros did an amazing job on the reviews as always! Now, on with the review! I found out about this place when I was scrolling aimlessly on Facebook and boy, was I glad! First of all, the signboard itself told me that it will be a worth a visit. Lucky me, Eros came back to Penang for a week, so I suggested the place! Initially, we were supposed to be there on their Opening Day, but knowing Penangites, we decided to skip the hustle and bustle. 

 

MAYBELLINE SUPER STAY BETTER SKIN FOUNDATION REVIEW

I was running out of my Bourjois Air Mat Foundation and also the Laneige BB Cushion. My pocket wasn’t quite ready to invest in a foundation that’s over a RM100. So I thought why not try out Maybelline and I asked a favor from Claudia, after tons of research on YouTube for my skin type which is Combination Skin. 

Boy, was I excited to try it out! The night I got itself, I tried it on because simply being me, I couldn’t wait till the next day! Washed my face and mentally filmed a first impression of the foundation. I instantly fell in love! It was everything I expected it to be.

I think I came across to know about this place while browsing through the Hin Bus In-Between Art Festival. At first, I was like "Oooh, a new place?" NO, then I read through their About and OMG, I WAS SHOOK. Hahah! I was flippin' because it is a plant-based eatery! YES, FOLKS, VEGAN! Alright, I've seen a few cafes online that are 'vegan' in Penang, but they were not the exact ones I've been craving for.

I had this drafted in my blog since mid October, I just never gotten the chance to actually use it as I was caught up with my stuff and when I did, I forgot to film and take photos! Ahhhhh! Finally! I've been working my butt off for this just to make sure it's perfect! Not complaining; I love it! The moment I confirmed my order 3 weeks ago, I was hella excited! Legit squealing and jumping up and down and doing that 'Chandler' dance.

To be completely honest, this was my fourth attempt. The first three attempts was way before the hard drive tragedy but that was not the reason. The first and second attempt were terrible because the lighting was ratchet in both the videos. I screwed up for the first three because it wasn't as how I expected it to be. Hey, it was going to be my first video so I wanted it to be perfect. Little did I know, it wouldn't be my first. ✌

If I ever did plan on writing about this, it would have been way overdue. So, I had the chance to stay in this beautiful hotel in KL back in August and coincidentally, it's right beside Empire Damansara. Empire Damansara kinda reminded me of Straits Quay but in a more rustic vibe. Not complaining because every corner were very picturesque. Anyway, I saw that Haraju-Cube is located in Empire Damansara thanks to the TV in the hotel room. There were slide shows of available eateries shown on the TV in the hotel room, which I found very smart and helpful because it helps guests to know their way around plus there were promo codes only for hotel guests!

I can't believe it's 5AM as I'm typing this. My sleeping hours has really been screwed over with and my appetite is on a weird strike so that's that. Now, chia pudding! I don't see why anyone shouldn't love chia seeds because they're great for almost everything - smoothies, smoothie bowls, cereal, granola, salad and the list goes on!

So, I have serious ass issues where I want to buy whatever I see that's deem worthy, which can be bad. You know why? Cause I wouldn't mind starving the whole month to get the things I want. Either that or I convince myself that I have enough money for the whole month, then I will somehow spend it all without realizing. Like I said, I have issues.

  I think being in a relationship with yourself is very important. Isn't it funny how a relationship status is so important nowadays? Look at us - we're fighting to fit the expectations of society in ways of appearance and the way you should behave, what you should or should not do. Are we all not tired of living up to other people's expectations. Shouldn't we be only pleasing ourselves instead of trying to live up other's ridiculous expectations that are infinite and unsatisfactory? Why are we doing this to ourselves? Torturing ourselves for all these silly things just so we can fit in?

  Now, what was I saying? RIGHT - HAVING A RELATIONSHIP WITH YOURSELF IS CRUCIAL. So what you don't have a so called 'BAE'? So what you've been single for a long time? You're allowed to and you shouldn't answer to people who don't know how to mind their own business. Please don't ever compromise yourself for that relationship status. Never ever do that for anyone. It's not worth it. To be frank, I did and I learnt it the hard way. We're not perfect, loves, but it doesn't mean we should do things to harm ourselves  because in the end, we are hurting, only us.

Do you think that we expect a lot? Are our expectations unrealistic? How much do we expect of ourselves, others or from a situation itself? Is it bad that we have high expectations? If so, how do we control it? It's easy to say "Oh, just don't overthink it." Well, I want to see the person who tells me that does that without feeling as if they're gonna see Hades for the first time.

 I apologize for this rant. I have been feeling out of place lately. My semester break hasn't been entirely happy or relaxing. I needed it to be peaceful instead I got all the unnecessary stress and a thousand of bad news. Yes, there were good moments but when you're mentally unhappy; it somehow gets in the way. I've been trying to be happy but I failed miserably. HOWEVER, yesterday has been good. I woke up to the weather being good (thank you Mother Nature). I didn't sleep well but somehow the good vibe just came back crawling.

 Sem break has officially started but it's only for two weeks, well better than nothing. So why not welcome my two weeks of freedom with a new wild flower child series? I decided to name this one 'Modern Wild Flower Child'. The reason I called this one 'modern' is because of the little modern touch on a quite hipster outfit. The vision of this was really clear in my mind, so I hope you guys see it too! I also have a few ideas for this series and I'm so excited!

 On a not so happy note, I haven't been feeling the best lately but thank God with good company for the past few days, my happy level is now at the satisfactory level. I'll also be going back to work soon and actually I'm pretty glad that I'm going back. It has been a while and I'm starting to miss the feeling of earning money and not running out of them. So I'm ready to welcome the not broke life back. Shall we?

 It has been pretty tiring for me and I've been giving my face a break tho. I haven't been suffocating my face with makeup. Pretty much detoxed my face for a week and it has been really good. I actually planned on detoxing this week but this time it was a failed one so I shall attempt on another during sem break. Also, I've decided to watch Pretty Little Liars from the beginning so I can catch up on the latest seasons but I'm already almost done with Season 2.

  Now, let me remind you all again that I am WAYYYYYYYYYYYY behind for this post. This is a very special episode because it was EROS'S DAY. Yep, he turned 19 on this day, which was last year November (haha told you I was late)!

  To be totally honest, I had this idea since last year but you know, procrastination and commitment issues (with blog) problems. Today I'll be sharing my college outfit ideas. I always focus on style and comfort. No way I'm gonna sit in class the whole day looking all nice but feel like I'm in prison, neither would I want to be sloppy. 

 I care a lot about presentation, not just how I portray myself. I feel like one can express themselves well with their choice of clothing. Yes, I'm that kind of person. If I don't look presentable, no way in hell am I gonna step out of the house. I almost never go out without carefully selecting my outfit and look at least decent. This could be a serious problem but meh.

CAFES w EROS | EP5 : BLACK KETTLE

 I'm back with another episode of this series! I am still way way wayyyy behind compared to Eros but the important thing is not giving up, which I'm not. Why am I typing at 3 in the morning? Explains why no amount of foundation or concealer can cover up this black hole dark circles. 

 This cafe happened last semester when Eros and I were going around the town area hunting down for assignment purposes. For some weird reason all the managers were away on that day. Eros concluded that they all went for a Cafe Manager Meeting, hahah! Sounds legit to me. After scouting for (what feels like a hundred) a few cafes and getting tired of rejections, we were thrilled when Black Kettle said yes! Eros was the one who talked to them, so he got to see the place and the moment he got back in the car, he was saying how nice the cafe looked and that their pastries looks amazing. 

  The next visit (still for assignment purposes), we decided to just have lunch there. It was a very good excuse to try out the food and also for blog purposes. Unfortunately, I left my camera in the car so some of the photos today are Eros’s one. I’m so careless, why? 

Anyway, our guests for this episode are Gerald, Euri and Yana. Euri and Yana are Eros’s flesh, haha no, they’re his siblings. I’m so lame today, help me. Probably the effect of insufficient sleep. No seriously, I haven’t been getting my hours for a week plus, like I should. Haha!
