As I grow up I realized that birthdays are not all that without your loved ones. It doesn't matter if you have tons of birthday wishes on your Facebook because after all, Facebook reminds them of that. I used to care the amount of wishes I would have and see who posted it - very stupid but I was young and you tend to get suck into things like this. Social Hierarchy ; what's the point of being on top when those around you are not genuine?

It's time to get out of hibernating! What better way to celebrate that, than to share another review of a recent product! I'm so damn excited for this one. I have been ever since I received it 7 weeks ago. Excuse my tardiness, please! Let's hope my honest opinion will make up for it!

There has been plenty of hype over Can Can's Handmade and if you know me, I would have bought them instantly just to see if all this good word is true. Unfortunately, my student ass was broke and I have A LOT of shades already. I want to say I would starve for a month so I can purchase something but I'm too much of a foodie. Ain't nobody gonna eat their makeup when they're hungry.

If you're wondering where I've been, you can read my previous post right here, where it gets a little bit personal. Alright, back to business! Okay, I usually fight the norm and not wear anything vibrant during Chinese New Year. I don't do it to be not mainstream, it's because of the personal issues I have with that side of the family. Let's just say that my Chinese New Year is very different from yours. This year, I was feeling a little different and the theme was very peachy. I may have bought a lot, so I told myself that I had enough. That is, till I came across SHOPPR. YES, I BOUGHT STUFF BUT IN MY DEFENSE, THEY WERE PERFECT FOR THE FIRST AND SECOND DAY OF CNY!

So, I've been away for over a month. Since my last post, I was just preparing for CNY and planned to only update the blog after I'm back from hometown. Well, little did I know, we had a turn of events before the Lunar New Year was even over. 

Back to the title of my post - How does one say goodbye without a heavy heart? How do you even deal with the pain? Wait, are you even dealing with the pain? I'm not sure how this works, to be completely honest. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. How I feel? Unsure too. At first, everything just happened too fast. I couldn't quite process it. Took me a while, but then I guess that's normal. Then, everything just went blank.

I apologized for my absence. I didn't have the mood to write about reviews or whatever it was I wanted to write before this incident. I tried, but I ended up spacing out. Nah, I know better than to write when my emotions are all over the place. Unless I'm writing about what I was feeling then, but I didn't want to acknowledged it quite yet. I just couldn't believe it.

A few months back, I helped Carmen out with her final project which was producing a magazine. She asked me if I could be her model (feels weird saying it), and I was like "Oh, why not". Her concept was Black and White, which I really loved because it's something very different! So after picking out the outfits she likes from my closet, sorting out the venues for each of them, perspiring like crazy - these are the outcomes! I've divided them according to the outfits! There are A LOT of good ones! So enjoy loves!

"Oh, you're so rich." No, I'm not rich. I just happened to believe that one should spoil themselves with good food + amazing ambiance, once in a blue moon. Back to #CHEF (cafe hopping with Eros and Fufy/Éffy), We decided to try out this place I've been wanting to try out since July, haha! Truth be told, I tempted Eros with the photos of the place! God knows he cannot resist a place like this. I've been here before and that was a thousand years ago, and that was when I couldn't afford anything. Not shitting you, I was just accompanying my friends. Anyway, sssh, let's carry on!

Before I begin, I just want to apologize to those of you read my blog (and also to myself), that I stopped blogging on cafes for a long while now. If you click on the tag #cafehopping, you'll notice that Episode 8-15 are missing. That's because of my hard disk incident. To some of you it may be a minor setback, but it was a huge one for me. Honestly, I tried blogging about them but I just couldn't do it. Well, that 's alright. Eros did an amazing job on the reviews as always! So go on and check out his blog on the episodes that aren't available here! Thank you loves! 

Now, on with the review! I found out about this place when I was scrolling aimlessly on Facebook and boy, was I glad! First of all, the signboard itself told me that it will be a worth a visit. Lucky me, Eros came back to Penang for a week, so I suggested the place! Initially, we were supposed to be there on their Opening Day, but knowing Penangites, we decided to skip the hustle and bustle. 

 

MAYBELLINE SUPER STAY BETTER SKIN FOUNDATION REVIEW

I was running out of my Bourjois Air Mat Foundation and also the Laneige BB Cushion. My pocket wasn’t quite ready to invest in a foundation that’s over a RM100. So I thought why not try out Maybelline and I asked a favor from Claudia, after tons of research on YouTube for my skin type which is Combination Skin. 

Boy, was I excited to try it out! The night I got itself, I tried it on because simply being me, I couldn’t wait till the next day! Washed my face and mentally filmed a first impression of the foundation. I instantly fell in love! It was everything I expected it to be.

I think I came across to know about this place while browsing through the Hin Bus In-Between Art Festival. At first, I was like "Oooh, a new place?" NO, then I read through their About and OMG, I WAS SHOOK. Hahah! I was flippin' because it is a plant-based eatery! YES, FOLKS, VEGAN! Alright, I've seen a few cafes online that are 'vegan' in Penang, but they were not the exact ones I've been craving for.

I had this drafted in my blog since mid October, I just never gotten the chance to actually use it as I was caught up with my stuff and when I did, I forgot to film and take photos! Ahhhhh! Finally! I've been working my butt off for this just to make sure it's perfect! Not complaining; I love it! The moment I confirmed my order 3 weeks ago, I was hella excited! Legit squealing and jumping up and down and doing that 'Chandler' dance.

To be completely honest, this was my fourth attempt. The first three attempts was way before the hard drive tragedy but that was not the reason. The first and second attempt were terrible because the lighting was ratchet in both the videos. I screwed up for the first three because it wasn't as how I expected it to be. Hey, it was going to be my first video so I wanted it to be perfect. Little did I know, it wouldn't be my first. ✌

If I ever did plan on writing about this, it would have been way overdue. So, I had the chance to stay in this beautiful hotel in KL back in August and coincidentally, it's right beside Empire Damansara. Empire Damansara kinda reminded me of Straits Quay but in a more rustic vibe. Not complaining because every corner were very picturesque. Anyway, I saw that Haraju-Cube is located in Empire Damansara thanks to the TV in the hotel room. There were slide shows of available eateries shown on the TV in the hotel room, which I found very smart and helpful because it helps guests to know their way around plus there were promo codes only for hotel guests!

I can't believe it's 5AM as I'm typing this. My sleeping hours has really been screwed over with and my appetite is on a weird strike so that's that. Now, chia pudding! I don't see why anyone shouldn't love chia seeds because they're great for almost everything - smoothies, smoothie bowls, cereal, granola, salad and the list goes on!
